My photo/video journey

A brief look at how I started working as a professional photographer and videographer.

My passion for photography and videography began in my freshman year of high school. I joined my school's Radio/TV program, wanting to learn more about live sound, but I ended up falling in love with the photo/video side of the program, rather than the radio side.

I continued through that program for all four years of high school, where I won several state championships in various video production categories and learned all about the different aspects of video and photo production.

Towards my last couple years of high school, I began working semi-regularly in videography and photography content creation for marketing materials for various businesses in my area. Not only was I getting to do what I loved, but now I was turning it into a job as well.

After high school, I went to college at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, where I majored in Music and completed two minors: Film Production and Marketing. During college was when I started to get more work doing photo shoots in addition to video marketing.

I've really come to love photo shoots because of the fact that you can showcase so much of the subject's personality and interests. It's the best feeling when you can see someone start to come to life during the shoot and get excited about what we're doing. Not only are we having a good time during the session, but then you end up with a gallery of photos that you're so happy with because you were just having fun and feeling confident doing what you love during the shoot, and that absolutely shines through in the photos.

A musician as well as a photographer

While I love video/photo work, my main job is a musician.

I've been involved with music for as long as I can remember. What started as a mild interest in music as a 4 year old pianist has turned into a career that I absolutely love. My main instruments now are fiddle and viola, though I also play mandolin, banjo, guitar, piano, and bass.

I started truly discovering my passion for music in middle school, when I joined my school orchestra and started playing the fiddle. Thanks to a couple wonderful mentors in my life, I was able to start performing professionally when I was 12 and went on to major in Music in college.

I love recording and performing music of all types, with most of my work being in country music on the fiddle, or classical music on the viola. I have several country bands that I play with based in Nashville, Louisville, and Cincinnati, and I'm also a member of the Starlight String Quartet in addition to other regional orchestras.

Not only do I do a lot of work in live performance, but I also do a lot of work in the studio, which I love for different reasons. There's something so special about starting a project from scratch and gradually building it into this full and complete thing that will end up meaning a lot to so many people.

If you ever find yourself in need of music services for anything, whether it's a wedding, corporate event, party, festival, song production, or anything else, I'd love to work with you in that aspect!

I'd love to work with you.
